Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola suffered an injury against Southern California.

The injury happened in the third quarter of the contest as the Cornhuskers were in Trojan territory. Raiola dropped back for a pass but the USC defensive line collapsed in on him. Defender Anthony Lucas knocked the ball out of Raiola’s hand and he awkwardly went down with his right ankle getting twisted in the process.

USC recovered the fumble, but Raiola stayed on the ground holding his ankle as medical personnel attended to him.

Raiola is 10-for-15 with 91 passing yards and a touchdown in the contest, leaving the game with Nebraska leading 14-6.

He was seen on the NBC broadcast hobbling on the sideline while USC had the ball.

Raiola did not come back onto the field when Nebraska’s offense came back on the field. He was seen going into the medical tent. According to a report from NBC’s Kathryn Tappen, Raiola had a heavily taped foot and tried to work through it on the sidelines before re-entering the medical tent.

He left the medical tent a few moments later but stayed on the sideline.

Who is Nebraska backup QB?

Freshman backup TJ Lateef is now in the game for the Cornhuskers.

A three-star quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class out of Orange, California, Lateef has appeared in two games in the 2025 season, mainly in clean-up duty. He has competed 11-of-12 passes for 254 yards and one touchdown, as well as five carries for 32 yards and two touchdowns.
